Medication-Assisted Therapy (MAT) Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction
MAT is an expanded service that supplements our Behavioral Health program. This program focuses on reaching those in our community that is in an increasing need for opioid use treatment. The program links patients that screen positive for opioid use to a MAT specialist for ongoing support and treatment. MATs overall goal is to expand patient access to and retention inappropriate substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, and HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis services. It focuses on providing these services through two evidence-based practices: 1) Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral, and Treatment (SBIRT) and 2)a Twelve-Step Facilitation Outpatient Program, specifically to individuals with substance use conditions. For clients in need of long-term or intensive mental health services or substance use treatment, referral to external services organizations to ensure continuity of care is offered.
