School-Based Health Center

Since 1997, Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Inc., has operated its school-basedhealth center (SBHC) at the Benjamin Banneker Academy for Community Development located at 77 Clinton Ave. The SBHC is staffed by medical/dental and social work professionals specializing in adolescent care/behavior whose understand of the developmental needs of teenagers enable them to deliver age-appropriate care with both compassion and sensitivity. With the written consent of parents, our SBHC staff provides primary health care including complete physical/dental exams, vision and hearing tests, social work services as well as referrals for other specialty services.

In May of 2015 we were proud to have a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by manyState and local officals, as well students and the senior leadership of our hosts at the wonderful Banneker Academy, celebrating the completeion of the total renovation and expansion of our facility.
